Unilever's two policies to create a new industry norm
To maintain an inclusive ecosystem and protect employees from any form of harassment or bullying, whether individual or collective, Unilever Bangladesh Ltd (UBL) implemented two progressive and gender-neutral policies in 2021: 'Prevention on Sexual Harassment (POSH)' and 'Support Survivors of Abuse'.
UBL has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment and guarantees that every employee, regardless of gender, is treated with respect and decency. As a people-centric and compassionate business, Unilever recognizes that workplace harassment should not exist. Their anti-sexual harassment rules are assisting them in creating a more egalitarian workplace.
Under their "Support Survivors of Abuse" program, UBL gives relief and protects employees who are survivors of abuse or acts of violent outbursts such as physical or emotional assault in areas other than their employment, such as their home, public places, or internet media. Both these policies are helping Unilever prioritize the health and wellbeing of employees- not just physical, but also mental and emotional.
