How Chevron Bangladesh D&I Council is making a difference
Chevron Bangladesh is a strong supporter of workplace diversity, and we advocate for an inclusive environment that celebrates diverse views and experiences. Chevron Bangladesh established the D&I Council to centralize all D&I activities and ensured that all employee network groups within the Company were working toward a single objective of improving D&I within the workplace. The D&I Council works in collaboration with the company’s global Diversity, Inclusion and Ombuds (DIO) office.
Some of the initiatives that are in place:
• Providing unconscious bias training to employees: This training helps employees to identify and overcome their own biases, which can lead to more equitable treatment of all employees.
• Creating a mentorship program for women. This program provides employees with the opportunity to connect with mentors who can help them develop their careers.
• Launching of various employee networks: Bangladesh Women’s Employee Network (BWEN), XYZ Employee Network and MARC are the employee networks that are currently active in Bangladesh Business Unit. Some of the initiatives by these networks include celebrating International Women’s day, Supercharge your career, celebrating national festivals, Chevron voices, conducting open dialogue sessions etc.
These are just a few of the ways that Chevron Bangladesh's Diversity and Inclusion Council is making a difference. The company is committed to creating a workplace where all employees feel welcome and valued.
