Unilever’s various initiatives to accelerate diversity
UBL has an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Council which includes male and female leaders within the organization. This council is created to be the change champions to pioneer a progressive workplace and to enable a diverse and inclusive organization. Flexible Working Hours and Work from Home are UBL’s one of the best practices. It enables employees to work virtually in times of need such that employees can balance work and personal priorities. Another best practice of UBL is the equal work opportunity. UBL strives to ensure equal opportunity and roles, starting from beginners to leaders. While hiring we ensure that there is a 70:30 representation of female and male candidates. And in the Management Community (Committee) we have 2 female members. There has been an increase representation of females at the leadership level from 10% in 2016 to 41% in 2021. We aim to become 50% gender balanced by the end of 2023.
